Men's Basketball Loses on Senior Night
The Blackburn College men's beasketball team was defeated by the Spalding University Golden Eagles by a score of 71-47 on Saturday afternoon. It was senior day for the Beavers as they celebrated the careers of six seniors ; Madison Medley, Dakota Tucker, Brandon Roberts, Sean Stochl, Julian Lott, and Austin Godfrey. Godfrey made his first career start in Saturday's contest.
The Beavers were led by senior Brandon Roberts who hit three three-pointers for a total of nine points. Freshman Jon Lowry added eight points off the bench. Senior Madison Medley grabbed eight rebounds while Brandon Adams collected seven. All twelve Blackburn players earned playing time in the loss.
The 13-11 Golden Eagles controlled much of the game as they had Blackburn down 35-21 at half. The Beavers were outscored by ten points in the second half as Spalding sealed the SLIAC victory.
Blackburn now drops to 6-18 on the year while having a 3-12 conference mark. The men will finish up the season with a home SLIAC game against Principia next Tuesday at 8 p.m.
