Men's Basketball Releases 2018-19 Schedule

The Blackburn College Men's Basketball Team has just released their 2018-19 basketball schedule.  The Beavers are coming off their best season since 2004-05 with a 15-12 record with many faces returning and a very strong recruiting class coming in.  The Beavers will open their season at home as they host St. Louis College of Pharmacy on November 8th before playing their first of two exhibition games against NCAA Division II teams.  Blackburn will face Missouri S & T in Rolla, Missouri two days after the opener.  Blackburn rallied to defeat Missouri S & T in last season's exhibition.  Blackburn the following weekend will play in their first of two tournaments taking on DePauw University and Illinois College in Jacksonville.  The Beavers then travel to face CCIW opponent Elmhurst College who the Beavers defeated in Carlinville last year.

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference portion of the season then begins on November 28th as the Beavers open at MacMurray College. Blackburn then face conference foes Westminster, Eureka and Greenville with the other exhibition at McKendree University mixed in.  Blackburn then travels to Memphis on December 17 and 18 to play in the Rhodes College Tournament facing Rhodes and Centre College.  Blackburn finishes the 2018 portion of the schedule with a home matchup against Loras on December 30.  Loras was 19-7 last season including a 102-90 win against the Beavers.

From that point on it's all SLIAC games in 2019 as the Beavers look to return to the conference tournament.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to compete together in the upcoming season. We consistently build a schedule that will challenge our young men to be their best and help us continue to build together as a program. We believe that playing tough non-conference opponents will prepare us for the nightly battles in the SLIAC and there is no doubt that we will be up to facing those challenges again with what the 18-19 schedule has in store for us. We look forward to the packed houses at home as well as the challenging environments on the road. We truly appreciate the support and we look forward to seeing everybody in the 18-19 season, it will be an exciting one for sure!", said Blackburn Coach Steve Kollar.
