With the fall golf season wrapping up, Senior Anthony Harper has made tremendous leaps and bounds in advancing his game to the next level. He has been tabbed SLIAC Conference Golfer of the Week from his performance in Jacksonville, IL at The Links Golf Course. He posted a round of 76, which got him into a playoff with Cody Curry of MacMurray. The playoff went into two holes out at The Links, as Harper made quick work by getting par on both playoff holes.
"For me, coming into the tournament today I gave myself no excuses after the previous week of having the lead in Iowa with five holes to play, I wasn't going to give this one up. I had never been in a playoff for a college tournament, so it was a new feeling for me. To get this win, and have my mom and teammates looking on really meant alot to me." said Harper.
Harper exits his final fall season by totaling the lowest fall scoring average in more than eight years by a Blackburn golfer with a 76.33.
"For me to win SLIAC golfer of the week is a great honor, but we still have work to do to get ready for the spring" added Harper.
