Oberkfell, Tuetken Earn Player of the Week Distinction
CARLINVILLE, IL -- Blackburn College Athletics has named cross country junior Collyn Oberkfell and senior women's golfer Caidy Tuetken as the Players of the Week.
Oberkfell paced the cross country team at the Principia College Twilight Meet by setting a new 8K personal record on the team's toughest course of the season by nearly two minutes. His time of 33:39.30 placed him 23rd overall and was a key factor in the team tying with Lyon College in the meet.
Tuetken led the women's golf team at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships. She finished the three-day event among the top 25 after posting a final score of 279 while facing a hilly and difficult course.
This week, the action begins Tuesday with the soccer team hosting Faith Baptist Bible College in nonconference action. The golf teams continue the action Wednesday when they host Westminster College in a dual match at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton, Illinois.
On Friday, both cross country teams head to Bradley University for their Pink and White Classic while volleyball hosts Spalding University for SLIAC action.
Saturday sees men's and women's soccer host Eureka College in two SLIAC matches.
The week concludes Sunday with BC hosting Mississippi University for Women for another SLIAC volleyball matchup.
