Carter, Palmier Earn Prairie Farms Athletes of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL -- Kamerin Carter and Sophia Palmier were named the Blackburn College Praire Farms Athletes of the Week. 

A junior, Carter posted 31 points to help guide the men's basketball team to their first victory of the season with an 83-59 victory over Principia College. He went 8-9 from the three point line in the game and was 10-15 from the field while dishing out four assists. He also had six points at Webster University Wednesday night. 

Palmier is in her freshman season with the Beavers and set a new school record of 2:52.46 in the 800 meter run in the team's debut meet of the indoor track season. Her time placed her third at the Illinois Wesleyan University First Chance Meet. 

This week sees the Men's Basketball team in action Saturday at Emmaus College before they visit Monmouth College on Sunday. Men's Wrestling heads to the Art Kraft Memorial Tournament Saturday. 

Women's Basketball heads to Hawaii Sunday and will take on Hilbert College Tuesday and North Park University Wednesday. Men's Basketball takes on Illinois College on Saturday December 20 to round out the 2025 calendar year.
