Gibson, Kelly Earn Blackburn Athlete of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL — Senior Caroline Gibson and sophomore Jordan Kelly earned Blackburn Athlete of the Week honors.

Senior Caroline Gibson put together an impressive week at the plate, hitting .538 while going 7-for-13. She scored 7 runs and drove in 7 RBIs, highlighted by a grand slam against Principia. Gibson also showed consistency throughout the lineup, reaching base in key moments and finishing a perfect 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts.

Sophomore Jordan Kelly had an outstanding week at the plate, delivering a perfect 1.000 batting average (5-for-5) across 20 at-bats. Kelly totaled 10 hits, including three doubles and a home run, which was a walk-off to secure the win against Spalding. Kelly also drove in seven RBIs, scored two runs, drew two walks, and added a stolen base.

Softball is competing in the SLIAC tounrament in Missouri today at 1:00pm. Baseball concluded their season this past Saturday against Spalding University.
