WEBSTER GROVES, MO -- Blackburn College Baseball returned to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday night with a visit to preseason favorite Webster University and fell just short of pulling the upset as they lost 1-0.
Senior Harley Carney led the offense with two hits. Sophomore Jordan Kelly and Dominic Medrano also had hits for the Beavers.
On the mound, sophomore Hunter Sarver and freshman Caden Carpenter both posted two strikeouts.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Gorloks managed to score on a sacrifice fly which proved the difference to win 1-0.
Blackburn returns to action Thursday to take on Greenville College in another SLIAC matchup.
