RICHMOND, IN -- Senior Dawson Klunk and freshman Brayden Smith were named to the Raven/Quaker Classic All-Tournament Team after the team's tie with Earlham College Saturday afternoon.
Klunk finished the two games with four saves while Smith posted a team-best five shots and two shots on goal. He also scored the team's goal Friday against Anderson University.
In the match with Earlham, freshman Byron McNeil beat two Quaker defenders and took a long shot which deflected off a third defender, but landed right at freshman Henry Ibarguen's foot. Ibarguen capitalized on the opportunity to knock in his first career goal and give the Beavers a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute.
However, the hosts responded in the 71st minute to tie the game. Both teams got shots on goal in the final minutes but neither team was able to break the tie.
With the result, Blackburn moves to 0-0-2 on the season and will come back to Carlinville to host Cornell College Thursday and Knox College Friday.
