WILMORE, KY -- The Blackburn College Men's Soccer team visited Kentucky Tuesday afternoon to take on Asbury University in a nonconference matchup and finished the game with a 1-1 tie.
The Beavers capitalized on their opportunities early as they scored in the 18th minute. Freshman Fredy Paiz passed back to freshman Johnny Perla who took a shot from about 35 feet out which bounced off the crossbar right to the feet of Grant Eugea. Eugea proceeded to knock the ball right into the net for his second of the season to put BC ahead 1-0.
Unfortunately, Asbury would answer in the 68th minute to tie the game. Neither team would be able to find the net a second resulting in the tie.
Senior goalkeeper Dawson Klunk tallied five saves on the day.
Blackburn moves to 1-4-3 on the season while Asbury is now 3-1-2 overall. The Beavers enjoy some time away from action before heading into St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play when they host Westminster College during Homecoming on September 28.
