Leland Branstner Named SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

BELLEVILLE, IL -- Leland Branstner was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week after setting two school records in Saturday's Millikin Big Blue Outdoor Opener. 

In discus, his throw of 137'6" set a new school record. He also broke the school record in the shot put with a mark of 47'1.25, a significant improvement from the previous record of 22'9.

He currently leads the conference in both events, and entered the top 5 all time SLIAC performance list in discus.

Branstner and the Beavers return to action Thursday to participate in the IC Thursday Throwdown.
