Koenig Named SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

BELLEVILLE, IL -- Senior Shelby Koenig was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. 

Koenig picked up two victories last week as she helped the Beavers defeat Ripon College 6-5 on Friday afternoon and followed with a 6-4 victory over Lawrence University Saturday. 

The senior collected 10 strikeouts through nine innings, allowing just six hits and two runs during her time in the pitching circle. She finished the week with a 1.56 earned run average.

Blackburn opened their spring break trip Monday by taking on Buena Vista University and Curry College.
