Bio
Colleen Cash begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Blackburn College cross country and track and field programs, working primarily with the distance athletes.
Cash brings a strong background in both distance running and health sciences. She previously served as an assistant track coach at Carlinville Middle School in 2021, where she developed training plans for middle school distance runners, led daily practices, and coached athletes in competition.
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at Indiana State University, Cash competed in cross country and track and field as a distance runner, focusing on events ranging from 3,000 meters to 10,000 meters. In addition to her college experience, she has completed multiple half marathons and marathons, including the Boston Marathon. Her experience with injury and cross training has also created an athlete-centered approach to development.
Outside of coaching, Cash is a registered dietitian and public health professional. She currently serves as the WIC Coordinator and Registered Dietitian for the Macoupin County Public Health Department in Carlinville, Illinois, where she oversees programming, staff, and nutrition services for families across the county.
Cash earned her Master of Public Health degree from Saint Louis University and her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Indiana State University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Honors College.
She is passionate about helping athletes build lifelong relationships with running while supporting their performance, health, and overall well-being.
