Volleyball Takes Part in Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, IN – The Blackburn College Volleyball team took part in the Hanover University Invitational Friday and Saturday but were unable to capture a victory as they were bested 3-1 in all four matches, falling to Hanover, Rhodes College, Kenyon University and Trine University.

HANOVER, IN – The Blackburn College Volleyball team took part in the Hanover University Invitational Friday and Saturday but were unable to capture a victory as they were bested 3-1 in all four matches, falling to Hanover, Rhodes College, Kenyon University and Trine University.
Senior Cara Pence led the offense with 46 total kills. Junior Payton Moeglin added 27 with Jessica Muckensturm posting 20. Junior Zoe Mitchell chipped in with 17. Sophomore Kenadee Frey finished the weekend with 90 assists. Abygail Sobczak led the Beavers with 10 aces while Frey had nine and Pence had seven.
Defensively, sophomore Bailey Bennett tallied a team-best 63 digs. Moeglin aided the effort with 43 digs and Frey had 42. Muckensturm had four solo blocks throughout the weekend and finished with a team-best six total blocks.
The Beavers return to action Wednesday and begin St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play by hosting Westminster College.
