GALESBURG, IL -- Blackburn College Volleyball took control early on their way to take a 3-0 victory over Knox College in nonconference action Tuesday night. The sweep marks their third sweep this season.
Sophomore Rean Ward led the offense after collecting 14 kills while hitting at a .393 clip. Junior Kenadee Frey tallied 22 assists and had eight aces in the match.
Defensively, freshman Elexus Frey finished with 12 digs. Ward and senior Payton Moeglin posted nine digs with K. Frey getting eight.
The Beavers jumped out 5-1 to start the first set and pushed out to 15-7 lead before taking a 25-18 victory. They followed it with a 12-2 start in the second set to cruise to a 25-7 set win. In the final set, BC scored the first nine points on their way to win 25-17.
With the win, Blackburn picks up their sixth win of the season to match their 2025 wins. The Beavers will return to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday by visiting Spalding University to take on the Golden Eagles and Eureka College.
