Blackburn Competes at UIS

SPRINGFIELD, IL -- The Blackburn College Women's Cross Country team competed in the University of Illinois Springfield Hy-Vee Prairie Stars Invitational Friday evening and finished as the top St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team to compete.
Junior Gracie Jent led the Beavers with a time of 26:16.75 while senior Olivia Leemon was right behind in 26:19.44.
Less than a minute later, freshman Mary Ahrens crossed in 27:10.54 and freshman Sophia Palmier finished at 27:17.63. Blackburn also saw freshmen Hunter Kirk and Kaitlyn Garland complete the race as well.
The team finished ahead of conference school Eureka College.
Blackburn will now enjoy a month away from action as they do not compete again until October 8 at the Principia Twilight meet.
