Runners Set Four New PR's in Bradley Meet
PEORIA, IL -- Blackburn College ran in their biggest meet of the season by taking part in the Bradley "Pink" Classic Friday afternoon, a meet that featured runners from all divisions of collegiate cross country and came home with four runners setting new personal records.
Freshman Izaiah Watkins led the team by setting a new personal mark by nearly threee minutes, finishing in 31:47.48. Junior Ulises Espinoza set a new best mark of 33:30.88, beating his old mar by 12 seconds.
Freshman Sam Schoeneweis's time of 34:02.30 also gave him a new personal record by over two minutes. Junior Collyn Oberkfell posted the second fastest time of his career by finishing in 34:37.22.
Junior Christian Miller ran in his first race this season and finished the course in 35:16.86, with senior Kobe Patton also making a new mark of 35:23.05 which was over a minute better than his previous best as well.
The Beavers will enjoy a small break from action before returning to compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 1.
