Volleyball Wins Opener to Split Tri-Match
FRANKLIN, IN -- Blackburn College Volleyball swept Miami University Hamilton 3-0 in the season opener but fell to Franklin University in the team's first tri-match of the season.

FRANKLIN, IN -- Blackburn College Volleyball swept Miami University Hamilton 3-0 in the season opener but fell to Franklin University in the team's first tri-match of the season.
Senior Ella Person led the offensive attack with 11 kills over the two matches. Seniors Zoe Mitchell and Payton Moeglin, plus freshman Rean Ward added 10 kills each. Junior Kenadee Frey chipped with 30 assists and six aces.
Defensively, Mitchell tallied six blocks while freshman Elexus Frey posted 19 digs. Moeglin finished the day with 10 digs as did freshman Makenah Dugan.
In the first match, the Beavers took the first set 25-17 and followed it with set scores of 25-19 and 25-13 to beat Miami Hamilton. The second match saw Blackburn fall to the hosts with Franklin winning 25-18, 25-16 and 25-20.
The team returns to action Monday when they host Spurgeon College and Beloit College in a tri-match.
