Beavers Win Third Straight After 1-0 Victory Over MBU

CARLINVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Women's Soccer team won their third straight match by defeating Maranatha Baptist University 1-0 Friday afternoon.
The Beavers were unable to get one past the Sabercat goalkeeper until the 78th minutes. After a throw-in, freshman Stephanie Padron passed to freshman Amelia Brown inside the box. After making two defenders miss, she booted the ball into the right side of the net above the diving goalie for her second goal this season.
Blackburn outshot MBU 25-3 with freshman Grace Vidmar leading the team after posting 10 shots. Freshman Madelis Garcia. Freshman Cristina Zelaya, Giselle Moya and Brown tallied three saves each.
The Beavers are now 3-3 on the season and will return to action Tuesday when they host Hannibal-Lagrange College.
