CARLINVILLE, IL -- Blackburn College Women's Soccer took on Hannibal Lagrange University in a rainy contest but the Trojans managed to score a goal early in the second half which proved the difference.
The teams played a scoreless 42 minutes before the match was delayed due to lightning in the area. After an hour delay, the teams finished the first half and immediately began the second half. In the 64th minute, Hannibal Lagrange was able to get a ball into the net to take a 1-0 lead.
After nearly eight more minutes of play, the game was called due to excessive rain and worsening field conditions.
The Beavers return to action Saturday on Homecoming when they open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against Greenville College.
